History
The Colt M1911 was adopted on Feb. 14 1911, therefore there is the "1911" in the name.  It became popular during WWI and WWII as the standard US sidearm. It was the first of its kind, featuring a spring guided slide. It was fairly accurate and is still a favorite among US military personel and is used world wide. It was scene in the movie "Black Hawk Down", used by the Special Forces group "Delta Force"(hush, hush).  This gun has definately served it's country over the years, at first fighting the Central Powers, to the Nazis and now today fighting terrorism along side many other pistols.

First Impressions
As we know, Tokyo Marui does quite well with their packaging, so I won't get into that. The gun was fairly light, about the same weight as a UHC M92f(LW), maybe a little heavier. It is noticably skinny, but for people that have small hands it probably wouldn't be. Gun is nice with full trademarks. Safety works like the real gun. Features an ejection port, like most springers do. The magazine is also very skinny and does not add on weight like most springers do(most airsoft mfg. put the weight in the mag).

The slide features these words:
PATENTED APR. 20, 1897. SEPT. 9, 1902   ( A colt(horse) here) COLT'SPT.FA.MFGCO
DEC. 19, 1905. FEB. 14, 1911. AUG. 19, 1913                                  HARTFORD, CT USA

This kind of takes away some of the realism, but i'm not complaining.
The whole slide itself is very realistic and made of high quality ABS. It, with the rest of the gun, has a matte-black finish to it, that jumps the realism and it is also shinny in parts that give it a good look. The grip is a fake wood made of plastic, but looks very real. The gun features a grip safety, toward the back where the grip curves. In order to fire the gun you must squeeze the grip in order to fire. The safety works just like the real gun, you flip up the leaver rearist the gun that enable's you to pull back the slide or pull the trigger. The magazine holds 25 rounds(yeah, right) of .25g bbs. The problem with TM and UHC guns is that you can only fit 20-22 bbs in the mag, when they say it holds 25rds, but hey it's only -2 or -3, that's not too bad. Most spring pistols don't even hold 20 rounds anyway. The trigger is crisp and is easy to squeeze. The slide is easy to cock back without any hesitation. The older TM versions of this gun were awful. They lacked hop up, used stick mags and were poorly constructed. The new High-Grade version prooves that Tokyo Marui can make up for its mistakes and they definately have, by putting the BEST springers on the market out, with the HGHU M1911A1 being one of them. I picked this one up on Ebay and got a good deal, $47 with shipping and the package came from HK! not too bad with shipping only being $12.

Performace
I decided to shot a few rounds to see how accurate the colt is. I fired 3 shots at the target that came with the gun. I used .25g bbs for a more accurate view of what this gun could really do.

Targets coming soon!

Conclusion
I would reccommend this gun to ANYONE who plays airsoft. It is reliable(TM), realism is great, and it is very accurate for a springer. You can pick one of these up in the US for around $50 for overseas for around $35.

First Impressions
I anticipated getting this gun, mainly because it was/is my first gas blow-back. I never had experience with these, but I firgured it out. I ordered this gun from Airsoft Atlanta during spring break of 2002. Yes, that means it is almost a year old, so some of the performance information in this review may be different for your or a new KSC M9.

When I recieved the gun I noticed something.....it was HEAVY! I'm not sure the exact weight, but its got to be around 700-900g. The weight comes from the full-metal magazine, which holds 27bbs. Without the magazine, the gun weighs much like a HW spring pistol, which is pretty good. Tons of metal are on this gun, mainly toward the grip and inside the gun(paarticularly near the ejection port).

Performance
The gun performs very well. Nice, crisp blow-back. I haven't had too many jams, considering I oil it regularly. That is the key to good performance with GBBs, cleaning it regularly! Jams are more likely to happen, not to mention the gun can break to where it is non-functional. I used PC duster for a while(from spring break to xmas). Then I finally got some TOP green gas. Now I could see what it was really packin'. The first time I used TOP in the M9, I knew I would never use duster again. TOP gave a real powerful blow-back, up'ed the fps, and was better on the internals. On the targets below, I used .25g for better accuracy and I used TOP, hehe.

Conclusion
Considering its the only gas blow-back i've ever owned, I can't say its the best, but I can say it is fairly good. It is powerful when using TOP, but I will say they bbs tend to sometimes go in unstable directions. It may be to some internal damage from the PC duster or it could be the gun itself, but IMHO, I reccommend this gun to anyone who is just starting out in the GBB area. It's nice in weight and realism and not bad in accuracy. You can pick one up for around $100 in the US.
